the honeymoon ain’t over...

2009

UPDATE:

We’re still married.  I know!  Crazy!  We’ve, like, totally got it all figured out.  We’re so awesome and in touch with ourselves as a couple and a married unit that we don’t even update this any more.  I know!  Anyway, sorry.  We don’t have a house, a dog, or a baby yet so anything we write in here isn’t that exciting.  But do check back.  You might be surprised by our latest adventures.  Then again, you might not.  Why don’t you call or write any more?  We miss you!

Yes. It very well may be over. But does that mean the romance and excitement...who am I kidding! Noah and I had been together for over eight years before he FINALLY bit the bullet and we FINALLY got married, so I’ll cut the crap on the love and romance bit. Now we are just focused on living and loving and “figuring things out” as he says, as a married couple in a time where more than 50% of marriages in the U.S. end in divorce. Which, if my math skills serve me right, means we also have a 50% chance of remaining happily married. Both of our parents have been married (happily for the most part) for over thirty years, and now we’re setting out on our own to find an answer to the question...so how do you do that? How do you communicate effectively, compromise elegantly, and change (or not) accordingly? How do you combine bank accounts, expectations, and neurosis? How do you remain an individual and still have common goals? We’re not sure. But we’re hoping that this he-said-she-said blog will help shed some light on our experience, and help readers gain an understanding and  a sense of humor about this silly little thing called love.

Or is it?
